Our client, a leading global investment firm specializing in medium-sized companies across various industries, including chemicals and pharmaceuticals, is seeking a dynamic Sustainability Manager. The firm operates in multiple regions, with a decentralized structure allowing for independent operation of its business units while benefiting from strategic oversight. The Role
As the Sustainability Manager, you will play a critical role in advancing the firm’s sustainability initiatives across its global business units. Reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer, your responsibilities will include developing and implementing sustainability strategies to ensure compliance with key regulations, such as the CSRD and CSDDD. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, leading projects that foster engagement and alignment with sustainability goals, regardless of varying levels of maturity across business units.

Location Remote working is supported. Ideally, the candidate is based in the Netherlands.
Ideal Candidate
Background and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of work experience, with at least 5 years focused on sustainability.
- Proven track record of managing sustainability projects and improving sustainability practices.
- Strong experience with sustainability reporting, data analysis, and regulatory compliance (CSRD, ISSB, TCFD, GRI).
- Ability to work across a decentralized organizational structure, with varying levels of sustainability engagement.
- Experience in private equity-backed environments and consulting is a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating across senior management and diverse departments.

- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Self-starter capable of managing multiple tasks independently.
- Detail-oriented, particularly in sustainability reporting and compliance.

- Fluent in English.
