Valérie van 't Lam

As a lawyer, I specialise in environmental law, including climate law, circular economy, energy transition, the Environment Act and supervision and enforcement. I assist (inter)national companies, developers and (semi-)governmental organizations with issues concerning new regulations, the transition to sustainable and circular business operations, the transition to climate neutrality, permit granting, zoning and enforcement procedures. Furthermore, I represent clients in court cases and in negotiations with Dutch authorities and governmental organizations.

As a partner at Stibbe, I will be co-responsible for the Environment & Planning practice as of 1 January 2022.

Scientific contribution:
- Obtained doctorate with a thesis entitled 'The concept of establishment in the Environmental Management Act', 2005
- Associate professor at Utrecht University
- Regularly published articles in the field of administrative and environmental law, the Environment Act, climate, circular economy and energy transition
- Editor of various legal journals and author/coauthor of several books.
- Board member of VMA and VMR.
