The world is changing, we are in transition to a new future, a sustainable future. Technology has a formidable role to play in sustainability transformation— beginning with the IT function and technology infrastructure, expanding to enable and innovate enterprise-level sustainability, and ultimately, scaling to industry-level impact. At the same time, the impact of the digital world on the environment is significant and must be addressed. Cross sectoral and multi-disciplinary collaboration is needed to solve challenges.
I feel the responsibility to act on the duality of the digital world and to drive change while embracing the ‘twin transition’ approach. A twin transition approach recognizes that there is a huge and largely untapped opportunity for technology and data to drive sustainability goals. Rather than treating digital and sustainability in isolation, a twin transition strategy combines these critical functions to unlock huge benefits in terms of efficiency and productivity. The twin transition can make a positive impact by ‘greening’ technology, data assets and infrastructures while accelerating sustainability across the organization.
In 2022, I therefore redefined Conclusion’s ESG vision, mission and strategy to shift focus from internal stakeholders to external stakeholders, in order to truly become a sustainable company. It's a journey in which we embed sustainability and the twin transition approach in Conclusion's operations and service offering, driven by our mission statement: “Let’s bring IT and sustainability in symbiosis”
