Your Job: 

The purpose of the Corporate Responsibility team is to drive positive and measurable impact through our entire value chain via our commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical business practice.  In this role, you will navigate and understand complex global environmental, social, governance (ESG) regulations and legislation, provide guidance and direction to internal stakeholders, and project manage cross-functional teams in the execution of required actions across Brooks’ global entities. 

Leading our disclosure and reporting efforts and execution of specific strategies, you will build strong relationships across Brooks’ global teams and external partners in Europe and North America. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Monitor and stay up to date with evolving environmental, social, governance (ESG) regulations and legislation across different regions, proactively identify potential impacts to Brooks and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders. 
  • In collaboration with the Legal team, assess global ESG legislation, including evaluating applicability to Brooks’s global entities, timelines for implementation, and actions required to comply.
  • Responsible for maintaining the ESG legislation strategic roadmap.
  • Coordinate all necessary actions to comply with reporting requirements of global ESG legislation (e.g., EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive). Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of submissions. 
  • Project Management
  • Act as project manager for Brooks’ ESG working group tasked with leading monthly meetings, providing clarity to the organization, and to translate regulatory requirements into actionable strategies required for compliance.
  • Project manage relevant teams and cross-functional efforts to ensure the successful execution of required actions to comply with ESG legislation.
  • Cross-Functional and Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Lead engagement with relevant internal stakeholders to inform and educate them on required actions and timelines to ensure compliance with applicable ESG legislation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., corporate responsibility, legal, trade compliance, HR) to collect relevant metrics and qualitative information necessary to adhere to applicable ESG legislation.
  • Collaborate with global marketing teams to ensure go-to-market plans, messaging, and positioning aligns with relevant ESG legislation.
  • Own relationships with external stakeholders including Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs), regulatory agencies/authorities, industry/trade associations, and consulting partners.
  • Data & Reporting 
  • Responsible to execute all necessary administrative actions (complete registrations for new countries and/or states, filings, submitting reports, etc.) to comply with global Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation.
  • Ensure disclosures are consistent across multiple formats.
  • Support the Corporate Responsibility team in additional activities including annual Corporate Responsibility Report and broader transparency efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Lead efforts to streamline ESG compliance activities, identifying & executing opportunities to improve efficiency & accuracy. 
  • Lead all assurance activities related to ESG legislation and own the relationship with external assurance providers.
  • Benchmark industry efforts related to ESG legislation.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, sustainability, or a similar discipline and or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in ESG and sustainability disclosures and reporting. Strong preference for experience in navigating global ESG legislation. 
  • Familiarity of voluntary reporting regulations, standards, and framework (e.g., ESRS, TCFD) preferred.
  • Professional experience within the footwear and apparel industry preferred.
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how the pieces align and affect one another.
  • Self-starter, responsible, and able to own projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company.
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and balance priorities, to work both independently and as part of the team, and to manage time efficiently are all important to this position.
  • Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments’ operations and/or morale; “connecting the dots.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan, organize and execute tasks with short timelines are a must.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
